An incredible three goal first half performance from the 35D’s, set up a magnificent 3-2 win over Avoca on Saturday. It was football at his purest and brilliant best as the boys totally dominated play to the point that they could have easily scored another 3 in the first half alone. Man of the Match Hutch, was everywhere and involved in all 3 goals to further strengthen his claim for a permanent starting spot on the left wing (something Andy Stuart revealed he too is concerned about as he recovers from surgery).

Singing in the Rain
Barnstoneworth 35D’s won a sensational battle over Woy Woy 3-2, on rain sodden Duffy’s pitch on Saturday. It was the lads first win over nemesis Woy Woy in over 3 years, with star import goalkeeper Cam earning Man of the Match honours for a superb display in front of the goals.

4 nil loss away
The common theme to our year seems to continue. Good start by us. Competitive fair play. Good build up play, and potential goals only to be spoilt by a goal to the opposition. This then tends to trigger an acceptance of another loss which then brings out the worst in our play. Panic, easy loss of possession, careless challenges, lack of talking and general poor team work needs to be addressed.

2-1 loss (away)
Not quite the end of the world as was predicted but unfortunately another loss, but a very exciting, entertaining game. We dominated the majority of the first half, but unfortunately a free kick gave them the lead. Having to face the low sun didn't help our keeper and defence, which let in the goal and an undeserved lead to Gosford. There were some great counter attacks, build up play and strong runs especially by Dave Stafani, our players choice for the day.

3-1 Loss to Budgewoi (away)
It was a real pleasure playing on such a great surface at Budgewoi. An even first half left the score at nil all at half time and well into the second half. Who was that left back(not me), with the ball skills to play out of the back dribbling past at least 3 players. Oh yeah our only English resident(I think he lives there and visits us occasionally. Long way to go to play a game). Good to see Chris on the field.
The local side started to get frustrated, as teams do when the early goals dont go in as they would expect. Especially with another great performance by our keeper Pierre. I think over the following weeks there will be a few more frustrated teams as we continue to improve.

Barnstoneworth 35D’s boosted title defence chances with victory in a truly superb, see-saw match with southern rivals Umina. The quality of the game was enough for Lord Barnstoneworth to break his self-imposed exile to lavish praise on the 35D’s calling it “the game of the century”.
The game had more twists and turns than a Circe Du Soleil swinger’s party, with Barnstoneworth having to come from 2 goals down in the 2nd half to get the win.
